FCAA Website V5.1/24. Latest update on 14 April 2025; Newsletter #13, April 2025. Go to the "About" Tab.
In 2022, there was a significant landslip on the Mt Beauty to Falls Creek Road, at Bogong Village.
The result of the landslip was that the road to Falls Creek was closed for several months and only opened in April 2023.
Since then the stability of the earth surrounding the landslip has improved. However, the collateral damage has been to the road both above and below to landslip due to the significant use of heavy vehicles taking spoil to various deposit locations.
The project is managed by the State Govt of Victoria via Major Projects Victoria
The local contractor is Whelans Group Investments. They have a facebook page that has up to date information regarding the activity around the landslip.
As at February 2024, it was expected that the works around the Landslip would be concluded and that the road would be fully operational by June 2024. See our update below as at April 2024.
We shall watch developments and update the web page as we hear of more information.
